Operator Skills in Call of Duty: Mobile are very important mechanics that can be added to any of your Operators. The Skills add different and extra weapons that can heavily effect how you play. Some of them are also meant for more aggressive or defensive play styles and work better for other maps. Each Skill has different level requirements to unlock though. Here’s everything you need to know about each Operator Skill.
📖 What Are Operator Skills?

Depending on your player level, you’ll unlock new Operator Skills as you go. Each one has different level requirements that will take much longer to get than others. That’s because some of these Skills are a lot more powerful or can change how you play completely at times. They’re best to use for either defensive or more aggressive plays depending on which you use. An Operator can also only have one Skill equipped at a time and you can’t switch them while in a match. What a lot of players do is have a specific Operator Skill they enjoy using the most to master. Some also pick the Skill based on the map that might make the Skill’s power perform better. Shields are a great example of this, as some maps have less cover that make them more important for players and teammates. Either way though, an Operator Skill often reflects how a player navigates the battlefield while having very specific uses and counters.
🔥 The Purifier

The Purifier is the first Operator Skill you can unlock the second you reach Player Level 3. This Skill is essentially a flamethrower that launches fire out in close ranges. As expected, any enemy that’s hit by this thing will immediately catch on fire and be hit with it as a status effect. As long as they’re on fire, they’ll begin to take rapid burning damage until they heal or die. It’s a very simple Skill that doesn’t seem like too much at first, but can come in handy when cornered.
Unfortunately, especially when you start unlocking other Operator Skills and eventually the whole roster, you won’t really need to use this Skill very much. The majority of veteran players end up forgetting about the Purifier entirely due to other Skills just having more uses. However, it’s still a fun flamethrower nonetheless and works as a decent introduction to the Operator Skill choices as a whole.
🗡️ The Scythe

The Scythe doesn’t look anything like a scythe at all. Instead, it’s actually a hand-held minigun with an insanely high fire rate and fire power for damage. Unlike the Purifier flamethrower that can only be used at close ranges, the Scythe is the opposite by being able to shoot decently far. For a relatively beginner Operator Skill unlocking at Player Level 15, this gun packs in a lot of strength with most players using it for a while.
Before shooting your bullets with this gun, you have to draw your aim first. It kinda works like a bow and arrow in the sense that your accuracy and range sharpens the longer you draw it. The same logic also applies for how long you fire your bullets. That can make this weapon a little hard to control though with its rapid fire rate. Try not to use all your bullets too soon with this weapon’s reload times.
💣 The War Machine

Now we’re getting to some of the really popular Operator Skill weapons. The War Machine is your basic grenade launcher, but its grenades do some lethal damage while creating some of the best chaos there is. When you use your War Machine, you’ll only have a limited number of grenades to launch at a time. This requires you to prioritize timing your grenades just right along with where to aim.
A lot of players who get really good with the War Machine are able to take out multiple players at once almost all the time. The key trick is to time your launches for when many players are grouped together and maybe even from higher ground. That way, you get to see exactly where your grenades land and see the damage that unfolds. With the unlock level being just at 26, it almost doesn’t get much better than this!
⚡ The Tempest

The Tempest works basically the same as the flamethrowing Purifier, but better! Instead of flames, the Tempest Skill weapon launches lightning bolts depending on how long it was charged up. It can hit up to nine different enemies or hit the same enemy nine whole times! This can create a stun effect while also dealing a ton of damage. If you enjoy the Purifier, then you should get to level 35 as soon as possible for this major upgrade.
🛡️ The Transform Shield

Besides the War Machine and the Tempest Operator Skills, the Transform Shield is probably used by the majority of players in Call of Duty: Mobile. It can be used both for offensive and defensive purposes by creating cover in pretty much any spot. It’s especially great for making cover for Sniper Rifle users who need the extra protection when aiming. At level 50 though, it definitely takes the longest and most effort to unlock.
